Exclamation Ecoboost Engine Dear Gawt!

Just bought a 2012 XL ecoboost. Replaced timing chain, oil pump, fuel pump, new cam sensor, new plugs, a bad coil, several engine flushes, fresh oil change. Did a master reset on the computer as well, per Ford recommendation. Still delayed acceleration and not at full potential...laggin and missing power. Drilled 1/16th weep hole in intercooler and just took for test drive, no change. This thing should be runnin top notch after this massive tune up. My mechanic did say the cat converter had a little build up. I have not confirmed the gap on the plugs he used yet. Plan on new hot pipes (maybe intercooler) exhaust and intake. Just wanted to put some damn wheels and tires and fresh paint on this thing and go to the beach...not happening the way I thought it would. Thnx for any help!

I might have started with a different truck/engine.
What codes are coming up?

Might be worth having the turbos checked as well as the intake valves for carbon buildup. Probably time to have those cleaned well. Check turbos for shaft play. If there is a delay, check the throttle positions sensor or look at recalibrating it.

Mechanic took this thing back apart again and has checked all wiring, vacuum hoses, and ford warranted out all 4 cam sensors. (Hoping that cam sensors were faulty as everything else checks out) piecing it back together on Monday. Turbos look good, recalibrating the throttle position sensor and flushing engine too. Plugs are gapped at .30 Hoping this does it!

Ended up taking it to the dealer and replacing the entire timing kit and all components including new cam phasers - fixed properly this time. Also had the wiring harness replaced and another coil that was bad. Finally running like 365hp turbo should- feels great. Still have ****ty mpg tho - avg only 15 mpg - may be my led foot. Glad its fixed.

sounds like "your" mechanic needs to go back to carburetor's, points and condensers ETC.
Glad you got it sorted.
