As I said, I am still an ecoboost fan but they definitely "can" have their issues. Tuned or completely stock. I personally know of multiple people tuned and completely stock that had engines replaced.

But most people dont read their manual, and just go by the oil life monitor. Except in the manual it will tell you that, the oil life monitor is only for "normal" use which is highway commuting in a steady climate, with no towing or hauling. If you do your oil changes correctly based on the three usage types, you should never have timing chain or gas in oil issues.

Ya ok. If you have seen almost zero failures you haven't been looking that hard.

I'm reasonably tight with my dealership having dealt with them for close to 25 years. My original service advisor is now the service mgr. and friend.
When I bought my truck I asked him which was the better motor in regards to problems, the 3.5tt or the 5.0. His response was it didn't matter. At the end of the day they were on the same level while admitting this might not have been the case the first year of the 3.5tt. He said they sell a 1000+ trucks with each motor before having one come through that needs replace under warranty.

The thing is Ford uses 3 oil change intervals, and everyone assumes they use their truck "normally". But normal for Ford means straight highway running with an hour minimum run time. If you do ANY, towing, hauling, dirt road use, short trips around town, cold weather starts, or use in extreme heat you fall into severe or extreme, meaning you should be doing your oil changes between 3000-7500miles (depending on how extreme those conditions are) Regardless of conventional or synthetic!

So it seems that FORD says worst case every 5k or six months...

The olm changes the interval based the vehicle useage. The parameters under which the engine operates alters (ambient temperature, % load, etc) the logorythm it uses to calculate the interval and reduces the oil life accordingly. It may not "know" you're in hilly terrain, but it doesn't need too. Parameters the pcm calculates for operation (is: %load, etc) tells the olm logorythm all it needs to know in order to alter the oil life.
The three ranges in the chart are given as an example of what the olm is going to do based on use. If you are in the normal range it's going to reduce the oil life accordingly. If you are I severe, it will count down faster and you can expect less oil life.
The olm is not limited to only the "normal range". It is dynamic and changes from day to day, even moment to moment.
The one thing it doesn't know is what type of oil you put in. The olm is based on the standard oil fill, which is the Ford semi synthetic blend. If you put full synthetic in, it's still going on count down you oil life like semi synthetic. Conversely, if you put non synthetic blend (is: conventional oil) it's still going to count down as if it has semisynthetic blend in there....

Unfortunately the oil life monitor just isnt that smart, if you want proof beat your truck off road and tow like crazy, I bet the oil life monitor still goes to 6000-7000miles. I tell people everyday, oil changes at 5000miles are cheap insurance to make sure your engine runs for a long time without issue. I dont care if its synthetic or not, Ive actually had more engine trouble caused by synthetic oils foaming up, than conventional/semi.
I wish car companies never invented "oil life monitors" it just makes people lazy about their maintenance and makes life worse for the mechanics and service people trying to explain why your engine needs major repairs.
If you really cant afford to do your $50 oil changes 2000miles earlier, maybe you should trade your $60,000 truck for a fiesta, because your obviously over spending. Your truck cant see lots of thing; gas that gets into oil, dusty conditions(which can contaminate oil very quickly), no warm up in cold temps, people adding oil of different kinds to "top up". Also the olm doesnt use anywhere near the info the pcm/ecu get.
