3.5 Eco boost regret?

No regrets at all. The Ecobeast rules the V8's in towing and all out performance. Great gas economy and power to spare. I'm kind of a throttle jockey so this is a perfect match for me. Dodge or Chevy have nothing for the Ecobeast.

XL forever!
It will be interesting to see if people still like them when the odometer hits 100,000+ miles.

Ecoboost
I bought my 2012 Ecoboost in June 0f 2012. The truck now as 43K miles on it. I have no regrets getting the Ecoboost V6. If I had to replace my truck, I would get a Ecoboost again!
2012 Ecoboost Supercrew fully loaded (the only thing I could want would be heated mirrors). The only repair needed so far was a door in the dash, that is part of the ventilation system.

Big Regret
Bought my 2011 Eco Boost new and have 89k miles on it and its still the death trap it was the day I drove it off the lot. Still have the CAC misfire issue and Ford continues to kick the can down the road. They really don't have a solution to fix the issue or want take responsibility. Have had the TSB performed and it did not correct the issue.
Problem is you have to be in some pretty unique circumstances to create the condition and unfortunately I have had it happen twice in the last 2 months. Be very carful if you are on the road for more than hour in the rain or high humidity.
Bottom line, BIG REGRET.

Major Regret
I bought mine new in 2011 and have 43k on it. I have had nothing but problems with it. The mileage has gone to ****. Ford refuses to fix the cause and will only fix symptoms like fouled plugs. Do yourself a favor and get the V8. I would take a 5.4 over this thing.

Ego Boost
Yes... my 2013 F150 gets about 10-13 mpg.
If I knew that I would have purchased another truck.
Mine has stalled twice; motor went dead.
Under the lemon law attorneys will not touch the millage
problem.

Go ask the Flex users!!!
I think the Flex got this engine a few years before the trucks. Go ask them how their turbos are doing after 100K. The majority of the posts here are talking under 50K miles......and I would certainly HOPE that an engine like this would hold up that long.
If you have a truck approaching 6 digit mileage, make sure your extended warranty is up to date and paid......otherwise.....arm, leg, or the one 'nad you have left!!! You will probably be replacing two turbos...just plan for it...raid the kid's college fund....
I would have liked to have seen the 5.0 in the trucks for a lot longer than what they have run, but I could be mistaken. As a big bro' to the 4.6, which was probably one of the best engines Ford ever conceived of, should be an option until the end of time.....!
5.0- alloy block, GT blower, or not.....life is good!
4.6 in a Screw with towing package pulls fine with 140K on it. 18-19mpg STILL!
4.6 in an old Crown Vic, 200K+ passes smog clean as can be, 25MPG out on the road. ..and people get out of your way for some reason....
Warm up them ink pens and check books!!!
