How much gas? And how do you know.

But likely a leaky injector.

I want to thank everyone who contributed on this thread, because I had this exact same problem with my 2011 SCREW, 3.7 Cyclone, 52K miles, and was able use this information in my conversation with my dealer. Took it to the dealership with a printout of this thread along with a printout of a TSB from another thread.

http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pu...sb13-06-08.pdf

I was concerned they wouldn't be able to pull the code because the wrench light only showed for a few seconds and by the time I was able to check the information on the display, it had cleared. Luckily, they were able to pull the code and it match the TSB exactly. My next concern was that since I was out of B2B warrantly, that it wouldn't be covered under my powertrain warranty. My dealership worked with Ford and they agreed to cover it under the powertrain. Back on the road with no problems to report today. Thanks again guys.

I've had my truck for over two years now and just over 36k on it, it started randomly losing all power. RPM's would jump and speedo went nuts and would fall off to 0mph while still driving. Took it in a few times and they couldn't pull a code because no CEL was being thrown. The first time this happened I was cruising at about 55mph and started slowing right down after the shutter and rpm fluctuations. The ecu engaged teh abs system while I was still driving and locked up the rear wheels. Thank god I was going slow and pull right off the road. The truck then stalled out. Dealer could only see an issue with abs so they reprogrammed my ecu. Well as the OP's vids show my truck started doing the exact same thing after this episode. Finally got it back today after they replaced the Lead Frame connector. Seems to be running fine so far. Anyone have this TSB done and experienced any issues after? Seems like some of you had it done a long while ago?

I just had the exact same similar problem with my 2012 F150 Crewcab with 27K miles on it. I had noticed a few weird shifting issues before, especially in cold damp weather after it had sat outside for a few days and was cold. This is what just happened.

The outside air temperature was 48 degrees F. I turned on my seat heater. It was damp outside, not raining, but it may have rained the previous days. I slowly exited my parking lot in Drive (D) and drove down a gradual hill where I had to come to a complete stop at a traffic light. The light turned green and the truck immediately started to stall, and seemed to be desperately trying to get into gear making an awful bucking and clunking transmission sound. Stalling in the intersection as the light turned red was not a comfortable situation with the possibility of being T-boned. At the same time, a large yellow wrench appeared on the instrument cluster. I put it into manual shift and limped it across the intersection, and found a safe place to pull over. I turned off the engine and was getting ready to call AAA, and referenced the manual. Page 41 states, “if the wrench light stays on, have the vehicle serviced.”

The light went off and I was able to drive it home, but when accelerating the truck again, I had shifting issues. I parked it when I finally arrived home, but started it this morning, and put it in gear and the wrench light came on again, and it failed to go in gear. Then, a check engine light came on. I did not attempt to drive it anymore.

I am really concerned that the transmission was damaged as a result of its clunking and attempt to shift at the stoplight. If it means a new transmission to make it safe, then that is what the warranty should cover.

Calling Ford Hotline indicates what most forum customers have had done by Ford service:

“Replace the Lead Frame in the Trans, remove the valve body dissemble and replace the lead frame reassembly and reinstall”

This is what I told the service rep they should do. They attempted a clean of the valve body and transmission flush to no avail. Now they are doing what I first suggested. Replace the Lead Frame in the Trans. We will see if this solves the problem. I will do a thorough test drive and post the outcome.

I had the same problem a couple years back and it also seemed to have a lot to do with outside temperature. After some research and discussion/negotiation with the dealer, they replaced my lead frame assembly and treated it as warranty work, no charge to me. No issues since.

I took it into the dealership to have them look at it, but they were "not authorized by Ford" to make the repair as they could not replicate the problem. Note: it only seems to do it when it is cold. It almost always does it in the morning, but rarely in the afternoon or after it has been driven for a bit. I have also noticed some jerking on a couple of different occassions as well. It seems the jerking was limited to pulling out of a parking lot though. Will monitor it and update post as things develop.
14-0076 is the TSB for the jerking issue in the parking lot.

They ended up replacing the lead frame body just like everyone else. I told them that is what they needed to do. At first they just tried to flush the transmission, and clear codes. Problem kept happening. 1 week later in the shop they did what I told them. They had to flush it again, and replace the lead frame body. I am keeping a close eye on it. It would have been covered on the 5 year 60 K power train warranty.

Sounds like I had the same problem this morning. I started the truck about 10 min before I left and it was 9 degrees F. Reversed it out of the driveway, into drive, and it felt like I was on ice. Noticed I was in 5th gear. Went to the stop sign and shifted to neutral. Back to drive, took a left, went from 1st to 5th, down to 3rd, and back down to 1st. Then it drove normally but I did not experience the wrench flash up on the screen. I am bringing it in on Monday but I hope it will replicate or flash a wrench so I can show them there is an issue.

I had this exact issue. Replaced my Lead Frame Connector and reflashed my CPU. Haven'd had one issue with it in over a year (knock on wood)!
