Cannot remove auto locking hub
Hello ...
I successfully swapped the passenger side auto locking hub with a manual hub, However, when I tried to do the same thing on the driver side, I was not able to pull the old hub out. I removed the three screws, took the cap off, removed the lock ring and was able to pull the hub about an inch and a half or so, but it just catches on something. I've tried tapping it with a rubber hammer, spin the wheel while on jack, with the jack lowered..everything. No luck.
So where to begin? I assume the only way into the hub is through the front end of the spindle? If I remove the tire and brake caliper, can I remove the drum? I guess that doesn't get me anywhere.
How about a metal saws aw blade and cut it open?

That post is nearly a year old. He probably figured it out, or scrapped the truck by now.
