Default New owner of a 1995 F-150 with questions

I just bought an old 1995 F-150 4x4 with locking hubs. It had only been used for snow plowing a small car lot. The transfer case is in 2wd and the hubs are locked. I would like to unlock the hubs and need to know which direction to turn them. Can someone please help me out.

Counterclockwise to unlock and clockwise to lock. Most of them show the lock and free positions and an arrow on the part that moves.

If the transfer case is in 2wd it won't hurt to drive it with the hubs locked.

You can drive with hubs locked but the axle and gears are turning therefore more mass and worse mpg. If there's no marks on hubs and you can jack up 1side, lock it spin the wheel by hand look at back side see if the u joint in axle is turning them turn hub other way see if it stops turning them your unlocked
