Default Windshield Washer Fluid Failure

Greetings,

It has been quite wintery here in the North East area lately. My windshield washer has not worked for quite some time now. Before it didn't matter as much. However now that is it freezing out side, I have decided to attempt to fix this.

I have filled it up with the blue fluid that contains an anti-freezing agent. When I press the sprayer button, I hear a click near the passenger foot well under the dash, however no spray comes out. The click is louder then a typical automotive relay. I have also checked all the fuses.

Is this a bad relay, or a bad motor?

Happened to me just today. Rattle the fluid lines, take a hair dryer to the container, thaw out the container. This worked for me. If not, do what the guy above said.

Well I doubt the washer fluid is frozen, if that is what you mean. This has been a problem since the summer.

Where is the washer pump located?

Do the relays under the dash usually make a loud noise?

BTW I searched for these key words and was surprised to find no information regarding windshield washers.

The wiper pump is located in the plastic reservoir were you add the fluid. Take the plastic reservoir off turn it upside down and you will see it.

About the relays I'm not sure if the wiper pump has a relay? What year is your truck?

Okay thanks for that info. I will check that later today. The truck is a 1995, the rest of its details are in my signature.

Yeah the wiper modules are not the best in these trucks either. Mine always makes a loud clicking when I push the spray button and it will take a couple tries till it sprays. Check for power to the motor and power from the module.

My truck makes a loud clicking when ever i turn the **** or use the washer fluid its the control modal its located behind the glove box you will need to remove the glove box and abs thing its lableld something like that its the black box right there the connections often get warn out over time and some solder usually helps. as for the washer fluid, take a paper clip and try to clear out the spray nozzles my old 82 capri they got clogged with black gunk paper clip and some washer fluid through it cleaned it out nice
