Depends on local laws. Here limo tint is illegal on the front windows as it is in many states. That is a violation and grounds for a traffic stop and citation. The drivers response to questioning constitutes probable cause to search. Knowing the actual laws and real rights will get you much further as arguing with the cops could constitute interfering with a police investigation which is an arrestable offense. Or you could just remove the illegal tint. ( I'm still assuming it's illegal wherever this post originated) Odds are if you aren't doing anything illegal and comply the cop will send you on your way in after a few short questions. They do actually have better things to do.
