Not reading the entire thread but dual tanks are Ford's greatest gift to man kind.
I hate that these fuel pumps are inside the gas tanks. Makes changing fuel pumps an all day affair. But have you ever been stuck in rush hour traffic because your fuel pump decides it doesn't want to work anymore? And that can be any time at all people the way all our vehicles are anymore. Well it happened to me and I just flick that old tank switch and I was on my way. I hate though that these pumps cost an arm and a leg and for a piece of plastic your life depends on.
Then when I replaced just my front pump which stopped working the draining from the rear tank to the front pump simply vanished. Then my front pump fuel gauge started working again.
Ford is magic.
