When I got my truck the stuff was all shot (1 speaker worked) I got a Kenwood head unit at FRY's for 50 (Great deal I haven't seen again) and got some new speakers at Wally World for another 60 or 70 then got a 10 in sub in box from my son (free ,OK he cost me something) and a 200 w amp from my son in law (cost me something too)and the truck rocks the geezer rock (read sweet home Alabama, etc) great!!

still sporting the factory speakers....the factory radio was dead when I got the truck..

I installed a Clarion Marine head unit and it sounds real nice...it was cheap and has a ton of pre-outs so its good...

Alpine ida-x100 it's alright shoulda waited for the x300 though
2 boston acoustic door speakers to replace stock.

Thinking about putting a sub in..wish the back seat sat up as far as the 92-96s i'd just get a shallow mount and slide a box under there, anyone with 89-91 ext cab have a sub setup? Want something I can hide well if i'd do anything.

I've got one 10" kicker behind the drivers seat powered by Alpine mono, kicker 6x9's in back and two Boston Acoustic 6" subs w/ tweeters up front. AL powered by the new Sony head unit 54W with Bluetooth. When my cell phone calls come in over the speakers and I can use it hands-free; people laugh.

Default my system

I have a pioneer avh p3100dvd. and it is the start to a long project. Just want to do all new 5x7 infinity comps all the way around, and do 2 10'' subs with around 800 watts, under my back seat in a FOXBOX....

OLD 1998 system however (and all of which is for sale now) consisted of an alpine cda7995 head unit, crossfire vr302 2 channel amp powering rockford fosgate 5.25'' components in Qlogic grey kickpanels. I had an image dynamics idmax 12'' sub behind the drivers seat in a custom box I built to fit in the 40 spot of the 60/40 split. The sub was powered by a crossfire vr600d. SOUNDED AMAZING.... great highs and mids out of the RF power comps, and the idmax... as you may know hits EVERY NOTE
