Another thing to consider, when I asked why????????? they said that these parts are in such high demand that they can't afford to have them weather damaged or destroyed on the yard. When I asked why such a demand, they politely asked me to count the number of GM trucks on the yard compared to the number of Ford trucks on the yard. Lots and lots of GM shells, most under 100k miles. Ford's
get driven to their deaths and don't hit the yard that often. Our local yards also have a separate area for 2000 and newer trucks which are all higher costs for parts. ECM's, AC Controls, Broken interior trim, any electronic item. I've spent months looking for a radio control **** that mysteriously disappeared. Even the factory radios in these trucks are gold. All the lights went out in her radio too and there is not one to be found for less than retail anywhere. Just my honest opinion, but If I have to have a part for my F150, I might have to hit one or two salvage yards to find it. This Silverado has been a nightmare. Her Silverado isn't alone in my stable of associates. My buddy has a '07 Ext Cab Silverado on it's 7th or 8th AC control module and third instrument cluter among other items. My soon to be former step-son had an '01 silverado with numerous electronic nightmares. I'll give GM Props here, he's now driving an early 80's model Silverado that's been beat to smithereans and runs and drives like new, except for the clatter of the rusted out and falling off fenders and bed. If you plan on needing body parts, you should have a field day. Anything else, you get what you deserve for driving a GM Truck built in the last 15 years. I know I'm talking about one area of the world, North Louisiana, but if our used GM Parts issues are any indicator for the rest of the world, buy a truck that will outlive you, buy another 9th Gen Ford! I have been searching for the past month and a half and can't find one that's in decent enough shape for me to have it on the road by the time snow falls. Plus there are a lot of buy/sell/swaps in the area for Chevy parts, a buddy of mine is a die hard chevy fiend and he's never short of parts. All the 9th Gens are still being driven and not going on the market anytime soon. I work at Napa too, so I can get brand new for a lot less than we buy the parts from the DC and manufacturer. I really hate to see it go, but I do need a bigger truck and 4x4 would help all year around. But, I will find another 8 or 9th gen for a project to restore or build, no doubt about that!

Loads of em here going on sale, but people want a fortune for them!

I can't find the add, but one guy wanted 10k for a 92 F250 with a 351 because it was a rust free truck from Texas.

Northern BC Canada.

There is what I thought a nice '96 250, reg. cab long box 4x4 with the big ol' 351, but they wanted $6000 and both of the tanks need to be replaced. One leaks because of rust and the other had a stick go through it. Another '95 250 with the powerstroke, but has over 500K on it. If I could afford any foreseeable failures for a diesel, that would be mine, since they're only asking $3500 now.

They are few and far between, because they're still being used on the roads or a big pile. There's no happy medium up here lol, except when I bought my current truck

Broke it. Need help. It hauled a 1 - 1.5 ton load in it then tried to play redneck dump truck with it. Since then it pops around some turns and the whole rear end shifts to one side when it does. It vibrates. More like shakes like a murf at 35-45 mph. I can feel the shaking in the shifter. I replaced the rear u-joint which seemed to help some but not quite enough. Wha do I need to look for/do

What's the next closest place to you on cl? It says prince George is about 6 1/2 hours from you.

Edit: Nvm. Dude, you're in like a black hole.
