I've gone from once a year oil changes to changing it every 2 years because my last oil change only had 6 or 7 hundred miles on it. I changed it yesterday, on my 'once every 2 years', only had 217 miles for 2 years I need to drive my truck more

Replaced a broken lock cylinder pawl on the driver’s door.
Pulled the heater fan and found this:
A shop rag, that has been in there for a long time. There are lots of shredded cloth bits in the evaporator. Cleaned most of it out with my air vac.

It's also a good opportunity to replace the evaporator insulation:

If it has any of the problems described in this or the NEXT caption, they can be fixed at the same time:

And while it's apart, you can dig out some of the crap that has fallen down the defrost registers & blocked the blend doors:

Also remove anything flammable from the resistors:

Got it all cleaned out using an air vacuum, with a long, flexible hose (1" diameter x 3 feet long). It was actually quite clean though, a few twigs, a couple leaves, a tiny bit of grass, and shreds of shop rag.
I even pulled the resistor block and cleaned it up.

Eddie Bauer got a new Alpine CDE-175BT Radio/CD player today, as the OEM Ford radio had seen better days. The old unit didn’t allow for connecting my iPod or XM radio either, so now with the Alpine I’m good to go.
The OEM speakers sound much better, but one is not working, so a new set of Alpine speakers is on order.

I decided I would replace my TPS sensor and at the same time replace the TBI gasket. The gasket was brittle and there was blow by because of that. I did this to calm my idle in gear. I checked the TPS and that seemed okay electrically a few weeks ago, but figured I would check the gasket so why not replace the TPS. I put it all back together and let it idle for awhile in and out of gear. The RPM used to be 550ish and not it runs more towards the 650/700 range smooth. Plan to take it out this evening and give it a rolling test. These things have been in there for 25 years...so it should be brittle...I did not break anything not even the TPS sensor screws. They were tough but a little PB blaster helped a bit. See what happens next...
