That's the real reason. I have 3.08s, and I ran an e-fan for years, but it didn't budge the MPG from its normal 11-13 when I swapped it in, or out. I drive it like I stole it, everywhere.

Yeah he has pretty much the best possible scenario. 2WD, stock tire size, manual transmission, lots of miles in OD, and driving like a grandpa. Heck I can get 16-ish on my 302 with 32's if I spend it all on the highway at 55. Its the town driving where I want to unleash the beast that gets me the 12mpg average I see LOL.

Well if I drive by too fast, no one will be able to see my fine looking truck

Finally got some new skins for the old gal. She was wearing 31"s but I replace with 235/75R15's. She rides a whole lot better now. I replaced the standard 5 spoke painted rims with a set of OEM painted rims from my old 86 Bronco. I had a set of the very cool red painted trim rings to boot. Sure did make her look a lot nicer!

Well, I was hopeful it wouldn't happen again any time soon, but it cost over $100 to fill up both of my tanks today.

New Tires. 33x12.5 Pro Comp AT Sport. I also took all the moldings and the chrome trim off the bottom of the doors and body panels. Currently painting the damaged areas under the old chrome with some spray on bedliner.

I tried some Top Tier gas the last few tankfuls instead of the generic, and I got 19.4 mpg out of today's fill-up. I've been getting between 17-19 with the generic, but I put in more of the Top Tier to see if it makes a difference long term. I paid $2.99/gallon so it's about 10 cents a gallon more, but if it gets me over 19 mpg on a regular basis I think it's worth the extra.

There's just one more easy calculation to find out if it's worth the price.
$perGallon / MPG = $perMile
So if you're paying $2.89/gal to get 19 MPG, that's $0.1521/mile. If you pay $2.99 to get 19.4, that's $0.1541/mi, which is more expensive.
But if you were only getting 17 on the cheaper gas, that would have been $0.1700/mi, so the expensive gas would be a better deal.
