Hi,
On my 89 F-150 XLT Lariet, just installed a new dizzy!

It was a Spectra Premium and looks pretty good....

And the truck is now running like a sewing machine! (4.9L)

Wanted to rebuild the OEM but it was shot! (300,000 miles!)

Thank you - I was skeptical it would match so well but it looks like it was made for it.

Here's some fun science for you all - On my drive up to portland without the canopy (slightly downhill, following the Willamette river), I averaged 14 mpg. On the way home with the canopy on (slightly uphill, against the river), I averaged just over 17 mpg, which is by far the best I have ever seen on my truck.

That's just using a back calculation based upon how many gallons I used each way, which is based on the pumps actually filling them to the same point, yadda yadda. But it was different enough for me to notice it. I will see how it plays out over time.

Probably would get a little better mileage, i'm not sure if it will be that good though. Thinking about it and seeing the fit, that topper has to be made for that model ford, so it probably was factory matching paint, i was leery about how it would look, even being red, but it's basically the same color.

I worked at Raider truck caps for around 12 years as a chop gun operator and gel coater, every make of truck needed it's own mold, yeah we literally had hundreds of molds.

Yeah the guy had it on a 97 F350 long bed. Given that I have seen about 6 different red paint codes for these model trucks, I pretty much won the jackpot. Paid $350 for it. Going to need to pay to wire in the 3rd brake light and get the bottom re-sealed, but otherwise I couldn't be happier. Only thing it doesn't have is the carpeted roof and rails, but I am not so sure that is a bad thing.

It dawned on me yesterday how faded and discoloured my hood deflector was, i don't know why i never thought to paint it before, but it's done now.

I think it might have something to do with the upcoming eclipse!

Nice addition to the truck!

Best junkyard find - ever - even came with the floor pan for standard cab and the seatbelt receivers. Some slight clacks in the trim that can be repaired with JB weld or superglue.

For those of you with red interiors, you know what a goldmine this is to find
