So I couldn't wait. Out with the old....

In with the new

I know why they were charging so little - the entire latch mechanism was seized up and non-operational. I popped it open and sprayed the hell out of it with penetrating oil and got everything to loosen up. Now its completely functional. And a significant improvement.

Nice! The red looks better then the black on the trim piece.

Changed out my O2 sensor. Much easier than I expected. Next project: transmission service! Here's the old one.

When I changed my O2 sensor I remember being almost disappointed in how easy it was. Was geared up for a battle and it came off with one whack of the hammer on the wrench.

Same here, BLD. I put more effort into the prep than the actual event! Almost disappointed... I had hoped my CEL would go out, but it was not to be. I'm being lazy rather than just getting the code...

Looks great! I have to agree that the red trim looks really nice! Too bad you're so far away or I'd come swipe your black trim piece for mine! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Clint! Yeah the trim panel is much worse than in the picture. I'm pretty sure someone used it for bb gun target practice.

I'm pretty sure that the PO tried to repaint the new one - definitely signs of paint over a poor filler job. And the clear coat looks to be on its way out. So it will be a project this summer. But body wise it is a 9.5/10.

Today I pulled off the bumper step pad and painted the area below the license plate with automotive primer. Almost a perfect color match and it makes it look new. I will post up a pic tomorrow.
