I've put in e-fans, K&N air filter, Accel Super Coil, and I have 2.73 gears which helps a lot! Truck was rated at 19 mpg highway when new. I've had it about 4 years now.

Default resolved airbag flashing light

Hi Gents, I had my airbag light flashing since I bought my 94 F150 inline 6 standard short bed cab. I noticed horn didn't work either so I had the clock spring replace about two weeks ago. That resolved the horn issue but the airbag light still flashed. After reading up on this forum and youtube I learned that my airbag module had a blown fuse so I found a used one on ebay for 70 bucks. It arrived at my house yesterday and I installed it today. It was really easy to replace. When I turned on the truck the flashing airbag light was gone. Problem solved!!!!! Now I will open up my old airbag control module and I am going to follow the youtube instructions and replace the burned out thermal fuse inside in order to have a good spare airbag module. Hope this post helps someone out there. If you need any more specific details, feel free to contact me.

Anecdote about my steering wheel spring from years ago: When I bought my 1994 F150 in 2001 the horn was intermittent and the dealer told me that I might have to replace the steering wheel spring. This meant that I had to disconnect the airbag and mess around with it. It all worked out fine. BUT, I always had the thought in my mind "Why in the heck did the dealer not fix the horn if he knew what the problem was before he sold me the truck?" There was a warranty period that would have covered it so I suspect that it would've been covered out of that bin of money and not out of their used car wallet. Basically they went the route to save the money. If I caught it before the sale during my test drive, then they would have fixed it to make the sale. I did not take the truck back to them under warranty because I did not want them putzing with it since they "overlooked" something else. Still have the truck today. Getting ready to do the bed removal and fuel tank fixer up.

I put in a new turn signal switch and some brighter LEDs in the dash. These LEDs can be dimmed by the light switch unlike the last ones. There was one spot on the left of the tach that would not work with the LED, only an incandescent. Maybe I need to put in a resistor somewhere?? Any suggestions?

Cleaned my Throttle Body with TB cleaner; cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner; went ahead and replaced IACV with Motorcraft part (old one was finking out and had bad idle and was after market); and she idles very nice and runs smoother as well. I started looking at the exhaust and wiped the pipe a few times and figured with the rough idle that I had a rich fuel mixture and went ahead and cleaned/replaced. Guessing that the plugs may need to be looked at as well since they may be dirty as well. But overall this worked nicely

I put in a new Ignition Switch Cylinder (Motorcraft SW298) since the old one was worn to the point I could almost start the truck without the key! The new one is the "C" version, and I was able to get the door cylinder notches cut into the new keys so I just have the one key for ignition and doors! It was just dumb luck but I'm glad it worked!

Here's a pic of the new key and the portion that was copied from the old key:

Have you ever had one of those days where you change the oil and then the battery goes dead and you say WTF? Well, I did that and I had the batt light flicker on/off until I got the revs up and then it started staying on all the time. I did the usual and checked all electrical as much as possible; checked the alt and batt at local shop. It all checked good and still charging the batt and the alt still looked fine. Double checked the wiring and measurements. Then I decided to replace the batt as it was under warranty and that did not seem to stop the batt light coming one. Then I just went ahead and replaced the alt and that was the problem even though it seemed to check out except for the need to rev the engine to get the batt check light out. The batt could get to voltage but the current must have been limited. So, anyway that worked out for me and it was an easy fix......
