What did you do to your truck today?

Spent bookoo bucks (not planned)
Wasn't today but haven't gotten around to posting about it until today but week before last I spent $2500 on the following:
1: New steering gear box (this was the original and only reason the truck was in the shop to begin with. This led to the discovery of
2: New upper and lower ball joints on both sides (which led to the discovery of
3: New rotors and hubs (the old ones were frozen to the axle and had to be cut off and thus replaced)
Black Stallion drives a lot better now although there is still some play in the steering and it still won't center up when going straight down the road. One of the downsides to the 35's I suppose.

lot of things, but not just today
on my '95 f150. Airbags installed, rear gas tank installed, front seat re-upholstered (so I can see over the dash!). It's a 2WD, but just found out I have a limited slip rear diff which should help out, new headlights. Googled how to fix a non-working front power window. Took it apart (the motor), found a bunch of plastic inside (just like the video said). Used JB weld on it, and it works perfect now. I'd like to find out more about the truck from the VIN sticker. Have spent some time on the computer, but getting nowhere. Any help out there? I got the basics, but would like to find out more. I'll try to post a pic. Thanks.

A few things lately, had to remove the rear window tint, it was bubbling and looked terrible, i never did get around to changing the plugs and wires, it's always ran good so i kept putting it off, but i figured what the hell and did them, the very last one broke when i was putting it in, i barely started driving it with the ratchet, i'm sure it was defective, kinda pissed me off as i had to buy 2 more.
But what really seemed odd is the difference in size, i had to double and triple check that these were the replacement, was a little worried. It's weird that they are so much longer, no problems however.
Also took a trip to the wreckers, managed to find 2 undamaged air vents to replace my broken ones and i grabbed 2 hood stops too, i had one missing, no idea where it went, only charged me 5 bucks... Score !

I fell in love with the truck as soon as I saw the pictures of it on Craigslist. I probably overpaid for it but the liftkit, tires and rims were on it and brand new within a couple of months when I purchased it. The guy was a disabled veteran and having financial issues. I am a veteran as well so I had no issue paying what he wanted for it. The other half **** a brick though. Oh well, she has her 06 Expedition and I have my truck.

oil spray to prevent rust, concern
it seems spraying the underbody and all nooks and cranies with engine oil seems to be the cheap true and tried method to preserve the sheet metal, but my primary concern is the ability of oil to gunk up and catch dirt. The sprayed surface will attract dust and the dust will grind the metal....or this concern is negligible since the oil provides lubrication and so the dust won't actually have any force on the paint?

Didn't do anything today but yesterday I gave her a wash and a coat of Dodo Juice carnauba. And filled both tanks.

I personally would never spray oil all underneath my truck. Never. Like you said, I'll catch everything. I'd spray bed liner before I did that. That being said, I live in Texas so I have no experience trying to prevent rust.
