Default Exhaust

I have a 94 F150 XLT 5.0L engine and I just purchased a flowmaster muffler and tips. The muffler is a Super 40 series SI 3" / DO 2.5"

Before I purchased the muffler I measured the exhaust where the end of the collection pipe ends and got roughly 3" This is where I wanted my local shop to install the new flowmaster muffler.

Has anyone else measured where the collection pipe ends and do you get the same measurement as I me and is a 3" inlet / 2.5" outlet muffler a good choice?

Thanks for any help/advice,
Ross

Love your truck man. I'll do exhaust one if these days.

I spent way too much on a pair of great condition Ford marked red Warn hubs. I had Warn premium's on and hated the gold color. It eventually faded and looked even worse so I disassembled, cleaned and lubed my stock (working) 5 bolt autos and have been using them. Then I seen these for sale and pounced. There's some wear on the chrome Caps but nothing excessive. They still look great and the red Caps are still nice and red.

I have seen those for sale. I may or may not have them in my ebay watch list as we speak. They are sharp looking and especially because they are red I want them.

The exhaust wasn't cheap either, but its stainless all the way back, and the welds are clean and seamless. Well worth it. Headers next.

Welp, looks like I need a new hosting site. If only I could post straight from Google photos.

Anyway, yea the guy I got these from has an NOS set for $200 and I would have loved to have those but it was just too much to justify. I paid $130 for this set that shows use of course but they're not abused. The red still looks good except a little but on the ****. I'm gonna try and clean them with some mineral spirits/ lindseed oil and see if that helps. Warn won't sell just the chrome caps which sucks but no worries, these look pretty good too.
