Drove it 70 miles to the nearest Autozone. Saved myself about $130 for the parts I needed compared to prices here in Canada. So basically the savings on one of the two parts paid for the fuel. And then 70 miles back to my home in Vancouver. Lol!

Pulled a 10'x12' tuff shed. I used an adjustable receiver hitchand raised it as high as it would go, then jacked up the tuff shed as high as well. Chained it from both corners up and over the receiver ball like a tow truck. Lowered the shed and had about 3 inches of clearance to the gound so I would not "drag" the front base of the shed and moved it about 100 yards into a new spot.

Replace my VSS in the trans and ABS sensor in the rear diff. Speedo still not functioning. So my guess is either the speedo cable or wiring for the sensors(speedo gear looked good when swapping to the new sensor). Also replaced the wheel studs in the left front rotor. Theb replaced all 20 of the lugnuts so they're all the same socket size finally. Lol!

Pull out the gear housing, spin the gear and see if the speedometer moves. If your speedo is cable driven there isn't any sensor that will fix it.

Default 1987 F150 Project

I discovered why my tailgate sounded so solid when it latched!! 200lbs of concrete, dirt and stone inside the tailgate. I wondered why it was so damn heavy. Replaced it with a $50 cherry '95 part, rust and concrete free, came with near perfect aluminum trim panel. SCORE!

Replaced my shift cable, changed trans fluid/filter. Changed mpls with a new one. Stressed out when overdrive didnt work when I got finished. Found new one was a bigger piece of poo than the old one I had, so reinstalled old one as a last resort and I now have overdrive. Now relaxing again.

Had 2 projects today, one was replacing the battery and the other was put new wiper blades on. What should have taken about 30 min turned into about a 4 hour project.

So when I got the truck it seamed to be a bit slow to turn over. So took it into the Sears store to have the battery checked, they said that it was ok for the summer time but will most likely not get me thought winter. So I priced new batterys and found out that the OEM Motorcraft one was cheepest. So I notice that the battery has a bunge cord to help hold it in, took that off and went to take the plastic block out and it just lifted right out. So the bunge cord was the only thing holding the battery in place. So I picked up a universal battery hold down at the store along with a few other things that I needed for the truck.

I go to loosen the battery termanals to pull the battery out and the neg clamp bolt just snappes! The pos clamp bolt seams to be half there, the bolt seams to be half eaten away and the threads on the outer end are half gone. So luckely I had some spare nuts and bolts laying around.

After the battery was pulled I saw all the rust on the battery tray so I took a wire brush to it. Then I hit it with some crosion inhibitor and some paint. The new battery went in anlong with the universal battery hold down witch needed some slight modifications.

The wiper blades went a bit easyer but still had a few problems. First was getting the old ones off, they were some cheep auto parts store one that were on the truck when I bought it. They were a sping loaded type that didn't have much of a frame work behind them. They didn't seam to lay flat on the pasenger side leaving a area untouched. So to get them off you had to bend them in half to releace the spring tension that also held them onto the pins, they were a bit if a chore to get off but was able to.

So the new one were the universal style were you had to pick the right adapitor to get them to work. I find the right one and put the right side on with no problem, but when I go to put the left one on and I dropped the adapitor and it fell into the engine compartment. So I have to go find a small flashlight and spend the next 15 min trying to find it. Ended up finding it in the back lower edge of the inner wheel well, found from under the truck looking forwards.

Today, cleaned the wheels/tires, and restored the headlights again. Amazing what those 2 things do for the look of a truck
