Default Oil pressure gauge not working

I’ve followed the discussion about replacing the oil pressure sensor on my 1994 F150 XLT 5.0.
The gauge on the dash stopped working suddenly a few days ago and after reading some of the comments I was sure it must be the pressure sensor so I replaced it. Sadly when turned the key the gage initially read good but as soon as the engine was running the indicator moved to the left showing no pressure.
Does anyone have an idea. The truck has 105k miles and has always been dependable.

Well replace the electronic oil pressure switch with an actual pressure gauge and see if it actually has pressure.

These gauges are just "idiot" gauges that deflect when pressure is above 6-7 psi. If your pressure is low, the engine will be very noisy. You replaced the switch (it's not a sensor) so that leaves the dash gauge itself or the wiring for it. I would abandon it and install an actual electrical pressure gauge and matching sending unit.
