Troubleshoot - 1989 f150 w/5.8 4x4
After a break down on in the interstate, with a trailer in tow. My lifted 4x4 1989 f150 w/ the 5.8 v8 shutdown completely after barreling through a heavy rainstorm.
Later I found out that the distributer sensor was garbage. After that was replaced my number 3 cylinder wasn't firing at the correct time or with enough compression. Therefore I fixed the timing and the fuel injection lines which solved the problem.... kinda.. Now the truck will not go over 2500 RPM's without hesitating and jumping. Which makes the truck unable to go over 60 mph without sounding like a terrible misfire. Not sure if related, but the heater will not work well because it drains the battery so low. Therefore, it has died on me at red lights if I'm not careful.
Any response would be greatly appreciated!!
