Default transmission whining

Just got done with the damn rear end and I'll be dammed if now my tranny is making this whining noise... I know someone has had this before, is it a synchronizer, or what else is a common problem, I just got to my base and settled into my home and now the fun begins... thanks fellas...

Bearings usually make whining noise. If it's an m5od, people usually let oil run low and it can cause bearing failure. Not to hard to rebuild if you want to attempt it.

You just hit the nail on the head I believe.... it is a manual 5 speed and i check the fluid and it was low... damn... what all does the bearing change intail? The most I have done with the transmission is replace the clutch, slave cylinder, and bc I was in there changed the oil pan and fly wheel... I don't know everything but I'll try

It entails disassembling the trans. You'd be rebuilding it. Southwest gear sells a dvd on how to do it. Their website looks like it was hacked, but you can call them for price and info.

Other options are to find a good used one, buy a rebuilt one or have yours rebuilt.
