I have a 1996 f150 4.9l 5 speed two wheel drive, It has an 11 inch clutch, how can I tell which transmission I have the Mazda or the zf?

I didn't think the zf came on the f150 stock. I'm not positive but I believe it was only offered factory on the f250 and up models.

Since both of them are made by Aisinwarner they are both Mazda transmissions. The big difference is the load rating on them.

M5od-r2, zf transes came in f250s.

M5OD has horizontal and vertical casting ribs while the ZF has diagonal.
