Transmi$$ion Leaking
I have a 1988 F-150 with automatic transmission that started leaking transmission fluid yesterday. Actually the fluid is just running out from right under the bell housing.
The truck sat for about 9 months without being driven at all and started only a few times. What I am wondering is where this problem may be? Is it an issue with the torque converter or is it a dried gasket or seal inside the transmission? I know it is not leaking from the pan.
I am not a mechanic but I would like to know a bit about the possible issues when I do take this to a mechanic.
Any help is very appreciated!!
Thanks
