Default Transfer Case Cover? Skidplate?

I have this thing under my truck that may be a skid plate for my transfer case. It's pretty annoying, on the account of it liking to get caught on rocks, or whatever else it can find. It's a huge eyesore, and doesn't look like it should even belong under there.

Do any of you know if they sell aftermarket covers/skid plates for this? I've been looking, and have had no luck.

I've borrowed this picture, seeing as how I dont have any.

It's right under the door, but in the middle of the truck.

You'll have to take a better picture, preferably of your truck and from underneath.

no, it is most definately not. i just went and looked closer at my truck (too dark for pics sorry) there is a crossmember, and then a skid plate type deal over the transfer case that angles to the crossmember but they are not connected.

oh and happyhour, thank you. i decided to run out and look at my truck to reassure myself that it was a crossmember and see 10 sets of eyes staring back at me. them cattle were out again and i wouldnt have known if your remark hadnt sent me outside.
have i ever told any of you that i hate cows?

alright, got some pics of it

as you can see, it is directly behind the transmission crossmember and bolts only to the frame, not holding anything anywhere

That protects the xfer case..I know it hangs low..but the xfer case does too ( not as much ) but lower than case to protect it..Off Road...Leave it...City/Highway driving...your decision..
