95 F150 Will not Crank when hot
Just bought a 95 F150 2wd 4.9L with 140k miles. Heres what happens: Truck starts fine. I drive it for 10-15 minutes, shut it off and then try to restart it and nothing. Turn the key to acc and all accessories work, turn the key to start I get one click and its like the battery is dead. If I let it sit for 25-30 minutes it starts fine. This happens everytime the truck is driven. HELP!

I had the same thing happen years ago on a very old vehicle. Mine ended up being the battery not having enough cranking amps. It could also be heat soak in the starter. I would have the battery checked first.

That makes sense to me. I have a 91 and I am having the same problem. I just put my trans back in and my exhaust and took er for a ride with my bud. Drove awesome. Got home and turned it off. I tried starting it again to see if it was soaked and it was. Ran a ground to my starter to see if that was the problem but it wasn't ... So I think it's the cheap Walmart battery the previous owner had.

I can almost guarentee your starter is out. Probably has some oil in it so when it gets hot it causes the armature to expand and seizes the starter up. Once it cools off then it works fine. Repace the starter

I had a really similar problem. The power and the ground wire going to the starter were toast. Also replaced the starter as well. Replaced the ignition solenoid as well as the coil itself. Last but not least I replaced the ignition control module cause when they get hot the truck shuts off. Fun stuff. Good luck
