Default Tips & tricks Removing selector valve filter please

I am stopped at this point, have it soaking in pb blaster. I've tried a strap wrench and a spring steel oil filter wrench , tapped both with a hammer, hasn't budged one bit.

Never use penetrating oil on plastics or rubber. It will permanently affect some of them, and you won't know which until they're ruined. Soap & water are much safer.

The captions in this album explain most details of the fuel reservoirs:

Considering that this lives its life full of gasoline, I feel somewhat sure I'll be okay, but duly noted.

Gasoline is not penetrating oil - they don't behave similarly, or affect all other materials the same way. So a rubber that can survive in gasoline for decades can be ruined by penetrating oil in seconds (although you may not know it right away); and vice versa.
