Question 4.9L Oil Pan and Gasket replacement

Well I have tried to search this forum for this but yall know how this search engine works on this forum! I was wondering the steps necessary to replace my oil pan and gasket (tilting engine, removing exhaust, paint oil pan with bed-liner, if i do have to tilt the engine remove fan from clutch, etc..) I found the oil pan at 1aauto for $50-60 http://www.1aauto.com/1A/OilPanEngin...tm_content=EOP and I found a one piece gasket at rockauto for $20 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/rafr...S34601R-397465 Should I also replace my oil pump while I have it off ( i usually stick with the "if it aint broke don't fix it" motto) Thanks everyone for the help! The $500-700 to have a shop have it done sounded CRAZY to me!

I used google to search. Just put in the search terms and then add the site you want to search on, in this case use "f150forum.com" (with quotes)

Oops I didn't see that part. Why do you want to replace the pan too?

Severe rust looking bubbles, and where my gasket has been smashed out where the metal on metal contact is has chipped away at the top lip of my pan.

Ahh gottcha. Sounds to me like you will be tilting the engine for this. Or shelling out $700.

I spoke with my mechanic and he said it is a real b!t<h of a job. And it would take his mechanic and occupy a bay all day long. But mine is a 351.

I plan on changing out my oil pan and gasket as well it seems to me if you jack up the front end loosen the engine mounts a tad and you should just unbolt and slide it out. as for the oil pump why not you won't have to worry about it for another (insert you millage here) and would be a nice thing to have nice and clean. I my self am going to have my uncle help me out with this due to i dont have any jack stands and he has a lift
