Maybe 2 or 3 years old, but truck does a lot of short trips without fully warming up. Didn't realize how bad it was running until it's running good!

Yeah lol I changed my plugs and wires a year ago and at the time my dad just had bought a 93 4.9. The plugs an wires in his truck were what came from the factory but the truck had only 140,000 miles and the plugs didn't look that bad. He used my old plugs and wires and it ran 10x better.

My 1996 F-150 XLT 4x4 5.0 with 33,000 miles still has the original Plugs, Wires, Cap and Rotor. Truck still seems to run good so I haven't changed anything although I probably should just because they are 18+ years old.

This particular 95 4.9 has some pretty heavy blow by, to keep oil out of the air box and off the driveway I routed the breather hose above the air filter. So the blow by goes right into the intake, that's my guess for all the carbon on the plugs. If it keeps the driveway clean it's well worth a set of plugs a little more often.

I am thinking to add ATF to the gas every so often to try and burn the carbon off the pistons and valves. The plug tips had so much build up that they all were really stiff coming out of the heads.
