Just figured I'd post some pics of my new to me F150. It is a 1987 extended cab 4x4. Everything seems to work ok except for the fuel gauges. When I first got it the front tank said under 1/4 left and the rear said empty. I put about 35 liters in the front tank and about 10 liters in the back tank and now they both say full. And I have to see why the engine light is on. I don't think it was on before I sprayed some air intake cleaner into the throttle body. Has 294,000 KM's on it and seems to run decent.

I for sure won't be taking on the highway very often as it sits at about 3,000 RPM when running 110-120 KM/H. The inside is in decent shape as well, all red vinyl! And I also have to get a new washer fluid/coolant tank as they had cut this one apart and moved them back next to the brake booster and put a second battery in their place, but it wasn't connect when I got the truck....

Also, how much does a truck like this normally go for? I want to see if I paid too much for it.

In Alberta your truck would sell for 500-800 bucks max.

Well I ended up paying $1,000 for it, he was asking $1,200. I will probably end up selling the bumper/winch as I really have no use for it. I had a look underneath and it has had the cats removed, but the air pump is still connected to something, didn't look that close. In the next couple weeks I plan on changing out the diff fluids, transmission fluid & filter, power steering fluid, transfer case fluid, fuel filter, cap & rotor.

I have a bottle of 80w90 gear oil, will this be okay to use in the diffs? According to the dip stick, the trans requires Dex II fluid, so I can just use a Dex III/Mercon fluid correct? And what about the power steering pump on these units, same as the tranny? Sorry about all the questions, it didn't come with the owners manual and I've only ever owned chevy's.

I wouldn't wash it, the dirt may be holding the rust together.

Well just put it in the air today and the power train and frame are in fine shape, no problems what so ever. Check engine light is now off, was a bad connection with the oil pressure sender. The only thing that is bad is the body but it isn't that bad. It will work for what I'll be using it for, that's all that matters.
