I'm running royal purple 75w-90 in mine I believe it is synthetic. But the performance of the locker is worth it I can deal with a little popping and clicking lol.

I was just reading a few threads on engine builds and went back thru yours. I'm installing a new engine within the next month or so and was trying to see what my before and after 0 to 60 plus qtr mile times will be. I found an app called QMileT, it clocks both 0 to 60 and qtr mile.

I used it this last Saturday and it's accurate and easy to use. It would be interesting to see what you run with all your improvements.

I needed somewhere better to run at but my first times where 9 sec 0 to 60 and 16 sec qtr.

Yeah man I'd love to share my 0-60 and quarter mile times with you. I'll try to get that app and see what she'll do. The new trans made a huge improvement so I'm excited to see the difference.

wow I almost forgot that forums existed and that I had this thread lol! Wow it's been a while. The truck has changed so much since my last update, and I do apologize I know this thread is old but I'd love to give a recent update for anyone interested. I hope most of The members sub' d to this thread are still active. I'm now 20 years old and still proud owner of this old truck I have an 01 f150 daily driver truck now so this baby is now my project truck. It now has a new paint job gloss black, and a brand new sliding rear window (busted the old one out, ouch) and new mickey Thompson tires in the rear, funny how the front ones are outlasting them so much lol. The biggest changes are under the hood though, and this is where I get excited. Still got that little rebuilt 308 short block I dropped in a couple years back which I recently pulled and re installed with a brand new built top end on it, which includes: afr165 aluminum heads, comp magnum 35-314-8 cam, scorpion full roller rockers, chromoly trick flow pushrods, edelbrock performer dual plane intake manifold and a holley 600cfm 4 barrell carb with vacuum secondaries and an electric choke. I decided to change out my induction system for the ease of tuning with my engine modifications. Still running my original long tube headers and true dual exhaust only change there is an absence of mufflers lol.

the most exciting thing about all my recent engine mods though is that I haven't started it yet. I still gotta hook up my fuel system and my ignition system. For the fuel system going with the factory pump with a bypass style regulator. For the ignition going with an msd box and distributor. Got all new mechanical gauges for my oil pressure, water temp, volts, and rpm. Off work tomorrow gonna finish it up and hope for the best and give the key a turn. Oh and almost forgot, still got the monster transmission aod now with a 3200-3500 rpm stall converter to support the new camshaft I installed. Also got a lokar tv cable to properly hook up to my carb. Once I get it tuned and running good going with a ladder bar setup for traction. Had terrible wheel hop and axle wrap with the stock top end engine and stock rear suspension, so definitely need something back there for my new setup.
