Default Suspension and Towing?

Alright, to start off I have a 1992 F150 Flareside with the 4.9 in it. I'm going to start towing a single axel trailer 5x10 with about 3,000 pounds max on it. My rear suspension isn't to good, so how important is suspension when it comes to towing? I'm replacing the rear shocks with some Skyjackers but new leaf springs or getting them re bent isn't in the budget right now.

Suspension is extremely important to towing. Not only does it help the ride but it controls your load while your traveling down the road. I would replace your springs before you start towing any substantial loads.

Air shocks would work for that small of a load.
