Strange sound while accel.
Hello,
95 F-150 XL, 5.0 V8 auto. It drives great and when accelerating at a normal pace it doesn't make any noise, but when you step on it and really go, there is a kind of "clicking" sound, like a loose cover or something underneath the truck.
I can't find anything loose underneath and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas where to look next. Any indication that there could be a transmission problem likely? It's strange cuz the sound cannot be heard at any other time than when putting the peddle right down.
Any suggestions or info would help. Thanks.

You guys are good... I went and checked it out. Had someone rev the engine while I was underneath searching for the sound. I then noticed that I had a small exhaust leak by the muffler, and when the engine was revved there was that noise coming from the leak. Strange that it sounded like a loose cat. cover... like a putt-putt noise, only at a high pitch.
Thanks for the help, should have that patched up in no time.
