Hello All,


Trying to trouble shoot a 1995 F-150 4.9

Truck will start just fine, maybe it'll go a month before the issue shows up but than you'll go out to start it and it won't fire.

Has dual tanks, both tanks do the same thing and I'm 99% sure I can hear the fuel pump(s) working.

I've cycled the key regardless, just in case of the check valve.


Distributor isn't all that old, the truck was a one owner who took extremely good care of it and kept up on just about everything. This isn't my truck, but a friends and trying to help him out.


Someone recommend replacing this PIP sensor on the bottom of the distributor.

Any other ideas, going to make a trip to town and don't want to start replacing everything trying to isolate it but need to start somewhere.

Check for spark when it won't start. It will show if it's an ignition related problem or not.
