I have a 1991 f150 custom 4.9. Ive replaced the starter 2 times,relay 2 times and now the ignition tumbler and key to no avail. Start kerps running upon starting and its intermittent. Thanks

Makes me think of of two things - you have the relay terminals hooked up wrong, or you have a starter for a manual instead of an automatic (or vice versa)

Thanks for your reply. Its right starter i watched autozone look it up. And changed it 2 times. Will check connections again. But its so intermittent it wont happen for months.

Hmmm maybe a sticky ignition switch?

If I needed a dirty, greasy rag, I wouldn't trust the zone to sell me the right thing, or a good one. Stay OUT of the zone. About 30 years ago, after 2 of their parts nearly killed me (at separate times), I took everything of theirs off my truck & returned it all for refund - even the paper gaskets. I recommend you do the same, and start buying quality parts instead of cheap ones. As you see, cheap parts aren't worth what they cost.
