The ground? Yeah man I did that, didn't fix it. Needed the double positive to make it stop.

Any rise in resistance would cause the circut to pull more current than the solenoid Is rated for. There is nothing wrong with doubling up your battery cables. Spending massive bucks, on high dollar cables, and straps is asinine.

How is removing resistance with better cables/connections not fixing the problem? I realized this fix on my stang when i moved the battery to the trunk...i had less resistance in 10ft of 1 inch copper than from 10 inches of stock crap cables..Never had another issue with a sticking starter again. The point is to have the best possible connections between the components. Correct?

Up to a point.
Just like lots of folks waste money on Monster cables at Best Buy.
Bigger is not always better.
Big enough is good enough.
Non corroded tight connections are important.
I have no idea what 1inch is, I deal in AWG.
If it is 1" diameter, sounds kind of excessive for a little ol' stater....

Well, I was headed out yesterday afternoon to check the voltage on the battery and ground and I dropped my meter and broke it. So I went ahead and changed the solenoid out to a motorcraft solenoid and added another positive batter cable to see what happens.

I will say this, something had to change on or in the trucks electrical system for the problem to start. I have had the truck back running for almost three years and never had any problems until about a month ago with it starting.

I will pick up another voltage meter in a couple of days, so I will check the voltage for any grounding problems I might have then and post any findings.
