Speedometer shaking and jerk when shifting
1990 f150 xlt lariat 4.9
my speedometer shakes at low speeds (0-30), the truck also jerks when shifting at the same range. I somehow traced this back to a speedometer cable that needed to be greased. I dont know how or what website gave me that idea but can anyone verify that this will work?
If it will can you explain how to do it?

Greasing the cable is a likely remedy for the speedo jiggles, not sure about it as a remedy for the jerking.
I pulled the instrument cluster to access the cable from the top. Pretty easy, and got to sit comfortably while doing it. :-)

if anyone is still having this problem they might be unrelated, a new mlps (e4od) fixed all my shifting problems but my speedometer still shakes a bit and I did grease it, but I'd much rather have smooth shifting than accurate low speed readings
