Default 1992 F150 4.9L wont start!!!! help!!!!

ok so today i was on my way to a dentist appointment an my truck ran fine... i shut it off for about two hours! when i got back in it,it started fine an took me back (30 min trip) home when i got a half mile from my house i got to a red light an the truck started to shake i watched the battery gauge sink down to almost 8volts i tried to give it gas and it died an wouldnt start!!! i have power to all accesories like the radio and headlights ect. an the starter will crank but thats it!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

well, start with checking for fuel, and spark...

My guess is that you have no spark. I am figuring the ignition control module or the pickup coil in the distributor. Both of mine died and caused symptops like that.

ok so i had my truck towed up to my work today an took a bfh( big f'en hammer) lol an banged on the gas tank to see if it was the fuel pump... i got the truck to start an stay running so does that mean i need to replace the fuel pump or was it just hitting a dead spot an now its good to go?

I agree with the dancing guy above who needs lessons. Anyway, was wondering, when you were stopped at the light and registered 8 volts, how much electrical was being consumed, is the alternator OK?

My power went down like that and it was my alternator i just got mine replaced with a motorcraft one. AutoZone tested mine and sait it was burned up. And if not your alternator either distributer, coil, or maby even plug wires are old mine are gunna need to be replaced and my engine is same age as yours.
