Try it in a spit you can't really see first to make sure it won't scratch your stuff. I've used it before and was pretty happy with it. Use the lightest stuff the hardware store has got

I built my own tire carrier out of 1.5" square tubing! I have a Hi-Lift jack to mount to it and 2 jerry gas cans. Any questions just ask me! By the way costed me a whole $45 to make!
