Default Spare Tire Mount

I have an idea for a spare tire mount in the bed for a 35inch tire. I'm thinking of mounting a tool box, getting some 2x2 rectangular tubing and a spare tire carrier bracket and a steel plate for a backer. Weld the carrier to the 2x2s and mount the package on the tool box with the backing plate. The tire would be vertical with the weight of it on the floor of the bed.

Anyone seen this or have ideas or info?

i never seen that but wouldent it get in the way of the handles?
its a cool idea just measure out how big the tires going to be and if its going to get in the way or even can be vertical.

Agreed, I guess a gull wing box or one with handles on the end, and then the tire would have to stand off the box so as not to interfere with the lid. Thats why I was thinking the 2x2 rectangles basically the width of the tire so it would rest vertically against them.

That one is designed for a Defender roof rack, but will fit a 5x5.5 bolt pattern and is adjustable in/out and up/down..

I'm pumped about it because I was thinking about getting a vertical tiregate at $660 and this would be a major savings at $85 plus some metal, I was planning a tool box anyway...

you ever think of getting a bronco rear tail gate tire mount? the one that swings sideways? if i can find one ill be putting that on my short bed i run 31s and the tire rack underneath wont fit the 31 i am sure the bronco can hold up to 40s if the rear bumper dosent get in the way.
