Just an FYI, if you use the online discount, you can get a new smog pump cheaper than $70 from advance auto. That would be cheaper than buying a new bypass pulley. Just throwing another option out there if you're looking to spend money on a bypass pulley.

Fords need the bypass pulley they dont make a bypass belt. Removing the smog pump and cat will give you about 25% more power and nobody needs exhaust gas pumped into the manifold carboning up everything and shortening the life of your engine. I personaly think its all a sham so bleeding hearts sleep better and we burn more gas. Sure the exhaust is slightly cleaner but were burning a lot more gas, and producing more slightly cleaner exhaust!!! Now how about all the extra plastics required for emission control and all the smog the factory that produces to make this junk, and how about all the smog the electric copany makes to supply the smog control factory, so on and so on! Its a joke, a properly tuned unrestricted engine is way more "eco friendly"

Hey, raving lunatic, try to post things that have at least one element of truth to it.

Default Bypass

I have an 88 F150 5.0 302 EFI. I have the smog/pollution pump bypassed. I took the pulley off of the pump and measured. To by pass just use an 88 inch belt. Fairly simple as all of you already know. As to how much HP this adds. I am not sure. But my truck had alot more a** afterwards! Hope this was helpful.

If this were an answer on a test, you made about a 5. Where did you get the idea you can free up 25% more power? Your telling me a 210 hp 351 and 325 lbs of torque bumps up 52.5 hp and 81.25 lbs of torque? I'm not thinking so.
