I used a 84.5" Belt. Same belt size the Mustang 5.0' use with under-drive pulleys with smog delete. Although a 85" to a 85.5" belt would of worked better.

I do not think it will work for your truck....I'm using Ford Racing Under drive pulleys is why.

Also, after getting rid of the smog crap, plugging the EGR, and replacing the O2 sensor. I'm averaging 18 miles per the gallon at the pump on regular octane gas on my 92 f150 with 5.0. Mostly highway driving.

On my 92 w/5.0 I had to use a 89 inch belt 89.5 was a little loose and I could not get a 88.5 on there. Thanks to this forum I am back on the road. Part# 890k6 at Autozone

It took a 91.5" (915K6) to eliminate the smog pump from my truck. The truck is a 1996 F-150 4x4 SCLB with a 5.0 4R70W and air conditioning.

^^^This^^^ is the ticket when you're talking to a Parts guy- Tell them conversation is about an off-highway use vehicle. They CAN be fined for advising someone to defeat emissions devices. Seriously. Back when I was active in the industry, it could be up to $10,000.

I worked as the Parts Dept. manager for a racing engine builder/machine shop/hi-po & racing parts whse. If someone came in asking about defeating emissions equipment, I stated to them that since they were in a racing parts business, that I was assuming that the conversation was regarding off-highway use. Most said "Yeah, yeah- That's right." (a la Tommy Flanagan on SNL- "That's the ticket!"). Those who didn't "get it" got directed towards NOT defeating their emissions equipment.

I had a HS buddy (and hot-rodder) that worked as a mechanic at a Chevy dealership. They had a customer that purchased a new truck from them and brought it back to the dealership several times within about a 2-week period, complaining about driveability. After the 4th or 5th time, the Service Manager pulls my buddy aside and instructs him to "do whatever it takes" to get the truck driving right. He tunes it out of parameters, gets it running great and the customer drives happily away. About 30 minutes later, the "customer" comes back with the local Sheriff and a couple of his EPA co-workers and "arrests" by buddy and the Service Manager. They didn't take them away, but sat them down for a very serious talk, along with General Manager. They ended up not charging them with anything, but DEFINITELY made an impression with them and ALL of the local dealerships when the word went out. This was in the early-mid 80's. I know that actually performing the work seems to you and me to be a step beyond advising someone- But not in the eyes of the Feds.

Sorry for bringing up such an old post, but I could not find the info I need anywhere.

1994 Ford F150 with the 302. Smog pump seized so I pulled the pulley (off road truck with no cars, was going to pull any way). Tried all the different belt sizes posted. The only belt I could get to fit was a 94.5 but has a chirping noise like its loose or has a bad pulley. Checked all my pulleys and every one is fine. A 94 inch belt I could not get on for the life of me.

any help or insight anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I used this same set up on my 1996 F150 XLT with a 302 that @fosgate3 posted above, but the 94.5" and 94" did not work for me. It was still to big my belt kept squealing. What I ended up using was a 93.7" belt number 5060937. It worked perfect for me no more annoying squeal.

Apparantly Ford uses different brackets for various accessories. I'm reading belt sizes from 91.3" to 94.5". I just bypassed the smog pumpp on my my '95 F-150 302 yesterday. Typical truck with A/C, P/S 5 speed. I measured wrong and started off with the 94". I ended up with a 91.5", Going with the factory belt route, just not around the smog pump. Worked perfectly. Did not remove the pulley or anything. I think the tensioner would allow for up to a 91.75" I know for sure that a 92.3" is too long.So the magic number for me was 91.5"

I have a 95 F150 5.0 302.Mine is equipped with air conditioner, power steering,an idler pulley,& tensioner pulley.I removed the smog pump, plugged the pipe going to the back of the heads & removed the canister on the fender well.I used a 91.5” belt which I ordered from Advance Auto Parts (part # 91560) and routed it exactly like it was originally but did not go around smog pump.It worked perfect. Some say you do not go around idler pulley but if you don’t the belt will rub against top radiator hose.Hope this helps.
