Default Anyone use a bed tent?

I am going to be buying a bed tent for my 94 ex-cab short bed shortly but wanted to see if anyone had any pix or give some reviews of using one with a 96 or older F truck.

I do alot of traveling to drag stips and go on alot of off roading trips all pulling a trailer with either one of my race car/truck or my rock crawler Bronco2. Having one of these tents would be perfect for some shelter from the sun or rain.

I live right by Cabelas so Im thinking of picking one up there.

Think of of this way at least you are off the ground in case it rains. And dont forget to have the front of the bed higher than the rear for drainage, you would not want to be sleeping in a swimming pool. I used to use a standard tent at Bristol, Atlanta, and Dega, and Syracuse, worked ok little tight but it served a purpose.

personally I think they would be inconvenient if you want to leave your tent setup and go on a 4x4 adventure
as for rain I really like putting an e-z-up over my bed and digging a small ditch around the are for drainage. sounds over the top but it worked

My truck has a 3/4" hole in both front corners of the bed floor so it wont hold any water.Plus my trailer will always be hooked up so that will more than likely give it the proper tilt to drain out the back anyway.

I will be using the F150 as my tow vehicle not the off road toy. Once we are at the park I can unload my Bronco2 from the trailer then set up the tent in the back of the f150 for shelter.F150 wont move again til its time to go home.

Sounds like a pain in the ***** when you can just get a topper to successfully close in the bed.

Yeah I thought long and hard about that too. However I never liked having a topper since it always seems whatever it is I plan to haul, move or buy it was just barely to tall to fit under a topper when I had one on my other trucks.Plus I hate the limited visability through them and added weight.
I am also getting a soft cover for my bed to help mith mileage and dry storage. Having the tent lets me load whatever I need to bring on a trip into the bed and store it all under a soft cover.Once Im at my destination the cover can be removed, bed emptied and tent erected.
