Default shuts off as soon as it goes in gear
for some reason when i put my 87 fl50 into gear it shuts off but it does start up great.

Auto? Manual? Any gear in particular? All grears? RPM @ idle? Cold start only &/or norm. oper. temp.?

Idle might be a little low, or clean air bypass\tb\etc, then adjust idle. Mine did the same thing when I got it, it would also shut off when letting off gas pedal.
