This is long but you asked haha: I tracked down a nonchrome one in good shape (you can paint chrome but wasnt worth the hassle and extra steps to me). Then I just sanded the entire thing down on the exterior with 200 grit until all shine was gone so paint would stick and all imperfections were too. Then for the inside 40 grit since it had a tiny bit of surface rust like most and sine no one sees that the key is to get rust off there and pitting there isn't a big deal. Then I washed it down to see what I might of missed the first time and see if there were more dimples that the dust from sanding might of initally filled. Hit those then washed again to remove dust then primed and painted. I let it sit in primer for a few days just to make sure it completely dried. I used rustolem for both and gloss black as the paint and did a few coats of each but that's up to you

Esko, The truck looks great. What Wheels/Rims are you using, and what size are the wheels? I am looking for the same style and look. Nice Truck!! Thx!

Nice, that swap isnt much of an upgrade especially if you keep the 302 mostly stock. The 300 has much more torque than the 302 and much lower, and the power returns from the 302 are negligible. Keep the 300.

Now I have a question for you, how did you manage to kill a 300? Ain't that damned near impossible?
