Buddies f450. Cummins swapped. I actually know the guy who had it before him who swapped in

the cummins. It's a pretty sweet truck.

I have heard about a Cummins swap for these trucks. Apparently they make a 4.9L that is a direct swap for the gas motor with the exception of needing a special adapter to mate the motor to the stock tranny.

You wouldn't happen to know where I can find some info on this do you? I would be very interested in doing the swap in my 94 if the price is right.

Well your probably thinking of the 5.9 cummins. It's an inline 6. It's what this truck has in it. There is a 12 valve older one, which is mechanical and easier/cheaper to swap. 24 valve has more electronics. Both came in dodge pickups, school buses, a lot of other medium duty truck applications. Pretty common engines. The one in the truck above is out of a school bus that has low miles. Google it, they are pretty common swap for these trucks

Here is my 94 XLT. 2wd, 300-I6, 5sp with 136,000 miles. Just had the head refreshed (valve seats, guides, etc.) and they replaced the rods and lifters too. Going to get the rust dealt with next year after tax returns. Might get the whole thing re-sprayed too since my buddy runs a body shop and offered to do it. Runs like a champ, love this thing!

Just turned 180k on mine with the same setup, and I feel the same way about mine! Looking forward to another 180!

Well it's cropped because i was walking out of Walmart and didn't want to look like a freak taking a pic, so that's why it's a little blurry. And you can't see it from this angle but I was parked like that because I had a 16ft trailer behind me. Any way after a good wash I like the way she shines
