Shorty headers will they cause overheating
hey guys im about to install some flowtech shorty headers, question is I already know engine bay will get hotter but will that increase my chances of engine overheating as well, thanks in advance.

Not the engine, but everything else IN the engine bay will get toasted or roasted. What are you trying to accomplish? The factory manifolds flow plenty for a truck. Headers will NOT make it perform like a car, or help in any other way. They just leak exhaust into the HVAC system, & melt all the nearby plastic.

Thanks guys & steve83 my manifold on the passenger side is cracked so I figured ill just put headers instead I figured they were better but had no idea they can cause damage to the surrounding plastics that bad.

Actually headers combined with open air filter is good for some noticeable gains. If you cheap out on headers they are a pain. Need ceramic coated headers with stage 8 or equivalent hardware and a decent gasket, but those few items run a lot more than exhaust manifolds.

Just buy a new direct-replacement manifold, and install it properly. It'll work better for longer with less hassle than headers. Read this & the NEXT 2 captions:
