Default Hedman Hedders

Looking through my Summit catalog today, and I start looking at headers. Hedman has 3 sets of full length for my truck, painted, HTC ceramic coated, and Elite. The Elites are thicker (14 gauge vs 18 gauge), have a thicker flange (3/8" vs I think 3/16"), and are HTC ceramic coated. Says they are the best ones. They are $300, while the regular HTC ceramic headers are $470. So, the better headers are $170 cheaper?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-89358/ - Elite

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-89356/ - Regular ceramic coated

Any idea what's going on?

Probably their best seller. When something sells fast and easy they can order larger quantities of the item at a reduced cost.

That may be. I wish I wasn't closing on a house next month or I'd be helping them sell

Oh well, maybe this summer.

I'd swap headers for a house in a split second.

It's not so much the house, it's that I want to put all new windows and doors in it this spring while they still have the tax credit for them

When I do have some cash to spare I think I'm going to go with the Hedman Elites, still not sure where to go from there though, I work night shift so I can't be too loud when I come home at 3 in the morning.

Just want to add my 2 cents. I have used different headers in my day and feel that the Elite series are the best I have used. I have a set about to be put on my 96' stepside.
