Default Seat swap

I've got a single cab with the bench seat. I'm thinkin about swapping in some captains chairs. What all would that entail, and would it even fit?

The bench seats are bolted to a frame which is bolted to the cab floor. Your best bet, if you find some seats that will fit ( I've seen them in Chevy pickups as a factory option but not sure if they ever came in Ford pickups), is to remove the entire frame, unbolt the bench, then set your new seats on the frame and drill out where the mounting holes will be. It would be a good idea to reinforce, with some metal plates, where the new holes are as I'm sure the bench mounts were reinforced somehow. Easy to do if you can find seats that will fit the bench frame. Someone may have already done this or at least knows of good donor vehicles to look for. I would assume anything out of a van would be to tall for the cab but I could be wrong.

Not all the benches bolt to a frame, mine didn't. I used buckets and console from a similar year extended cab.

I'm pretty sure all of the 92+ do bolt to frame.

You can make them fit but they won't lean back the way they do in an extra cab. No problem if you have short legs, then they'll be fine

Swapped my bench to 2 buckets from a similar F150, had to drill all the holes in, used large washers under the cab(not best reinforcement, but w.e)used grade 8 3/8 bolts and took about an hour(taking my time). Love the new seats

I swapped them from a 94. Just line up the front outside bolt and drill the other 3. I reinforced the floor with 1/4 inch plates just to be safe.
