well i put it in and it smoked some, not a whole bunch but a good little bit. Im not really noticing a difference much, but i want to clean out egr valve, can somebody explain how??? Or other simple cleanings/replacing to run smoother and make the truck last longer? How do you replace thermostat and should i get a 180*?

hahaha just kidding, sorry had to do that, lol dunno how everyone said to do it, but sea foam does work great how ever you use it. I let the engine suck down the whole can thru my brake booster vacuum line while it runs, allow it to idel for about another 5 to 10 mins then I take it out & let it blow all that nassy chit out. The other way is add to oil & let it do it's thing over time as you drive it, add to gas as well to clean out your fuel system. Good luck & stop worrying, it will be fine  |
I too did it for the 1st time yestrerday. My rig has just over 90k miles on it. I poured in a whole can into the gas tank (I have about 1/2 of tank of gas ... approx 15 gallons), I also put 1/2 a can through the line for the brake booster, and will do the other 1/2 of the can next week right before my oil change and spark plug change. I really did not get any smoke at 1st. I took it for a hard drive around the block, a few minutes after I left, a big cloud of smoke came out. After that a little trickle and a slight odor. Unsure about more power and better mileage. Either way, I am sure it helped some.
